Top 5 Signs of Dental Disease
Dental Disease: What does it look like?
Dental disease is a general term for infection of the gums. In earlier stages, it is referred to as gingivitis or gum disease. More advanced stages of the condition are often termed periodontal disease.
Dental disease is a progressive condition, especially if not treated. Some common symptoms of this problem include:
- Bleeding gums - This is usually the first sign of a problem.
- Swollen gums - This is gingivitis. Can initially appear around only one or two teeth.
- Bad breath - Persistent halitosis is intimately associated with dental disease.
- Gum recession - Progression of dental disease is usually indicated by receding gums.
- Loose teeth - In advanced stages of this condition, tooth attachments weaken and fail.
